President: Serve as the official contact, communicator and representative of the PTA; presideat Board and General meetings; coordinate work of the PTA Board to run the PTA effectively;serve as member of all committees; confer regularly with the principal on parent/PTA initiativesand concerns.
 
Secretary: Do you take good notes? Take minutes at Board and Association meetings andcommunicate the minutes; file records and correspondence to pass on at end of term; co-signformal papers with president.
 
Financial Secretary: Do you have time to deposit checks or money at the bank? Work with thetreasurer and other officers in handling PTA funds.
 
Parliamentarian: Do you like rules and like to be organized? Review Bylaws; assist thePresident to manage meetings and advises on parliamentary procedure; lead the nominatingcommittee to elect the following year’s PTA Board.
 
VP of Fundraising: Do you connect well with people and don’t mind reaching out? Lead acommittee for our annual Spring Jogathon which is our largest fundraiser. Solicit sponsors fromlocal businesses for PTA programs.
 
Historian: Easy! Collect PTA volunteer hours of service and submit the Annual Report to districtPTA; support yearbook and preserve a record of PTA activities and achievements.
 
Member-at-Large: Work with all officers and may lead specific efforts identified by the Board asa critical need for the school year.
 
Executive Vice President: Shadow the President with the interest of serving as President infuture years. Fill in for the President during any absence; help PTA leaders to connect families,school and community to support student success.
 
VP of Membership: Want to help grow the school community? This role will lead the annualplanning to recruit families to join the PTA. The annual membership drive takes place at the startof the school year until October. Work closely with the school principal and lead a committee todevelop marketing flyers, run classroom competitions, and distribute prizes for students toencourage families to donate to the PTA. The Membership Drive provides a significant part ofthe budget for the school year to supply resources and fund enrichment activities for allstudents.
 
VP of Family Events: Do you enjoy working with others? Like making kids smile? This job is foryou! Lead a committee for family events such as Back to School activities, Movie Night and FallFestival; schedule vendors and coordinate communication about events; organize volunteersupport for events.
 
Treasurer: Are you organized and know how to track spending? You will prepare and monitorthe annual budget; maintain records to track funds; pay PTA bills; prepare budget reports forBoard and Association meetings and an annual financial report; ensure required taxes andreports are completed and submitted by the due dates.
 
Auditor: Are you an accountant and have auditing experience? Please help only twice a year!Audit the books and financial records of the PTA semi-annually as required and present thewritten reports on audits to the Board and the Association.
